CHIRP Commercially Hosted Infrared Payload Challenge Coin SMC/XR
Space and Missile Systems Center Advanced Programs project CHIRP, the Commercially Hosted Infra Red Payload intended as pathfinder technology for future IR Sensor Systems. This was the first commercially hosted rideshare to perform on orbit data collection, R&D and exploitation. Very few coins printed and given to team members. Significant part of space swnsif history as the first successful rideshare with new advanced focal plane technologies incorporated that influenced designs of ensuing systems.
